Remember that a pronoun must refer back to a specific
noun. You must use the correct pronoun so your reader knows which noun your
pronoun is refering to. A pronoun should agree in number with the noun it
refers to. If a pronoun refers to a singular noun, you must use a singular
pronoun. If a pronoun refers to a plural noun, you must use a plural pronoun.

For pronoun/noun agreement :
- Read over your paper, stopping at each pronoun. (pay special attention to the pronoun it, this, they, and them).
- Identify the noun that the pronoun replaces. It you can’t find the noun, you must add one or change the pronoun to a noun. If you find a noun, make sure it agrees with the pronoun.
